The ESP-01 ESP8266 Wi-Fi Serial Module for IoT is a classic, lightweight wireless module designed to add Wi-Fi connectivity to microcontrollers or operate as a standalone micro-controller for… 3.0V to 3.6V DC (3.3V nominal, 5V non-tolerant).
The ESP-01 ESP8266 Wi-Fi Serial Module for IoT is a classic, lightweight wireless module designed to add Wi-Fi connectivity to microcontrollers or operate as a standalone micro-controller for small-footprint Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Built around the Espressif ESP8266EX 32-bit RISC processor operating at 80 MHz (up to 160 MHz), it delivers complete 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi networking in a tiny 14.3mm × 24.8mm form factor.
The module comes equipped with 1MB (8Mbit) of SPI flash memory and an integrated PCB trace antenna. Out of the box, it includes factory pre-loaded AT command firmware, allowing microcontrollers like Arduino, AVR, or STM32 to send and receive data over Wi-Fi via standard UART serial commands. Alternatively, it can be directly flashed with custom firmware using the Arduino IDE, NodeMCU (Lua), or MicroPython.
Featuring a 2 × 4 dual-in-line header (2.54mm pitch), the ESP-01 breaks out 8 essential pins: V_CC, GND, TX, RX, RST, CH_PD (Enable), GPIO0, and GPIO2. It operates strictly on a 3.0V to 3.6V DC supply (3.3V nominal) and features multiple low-power sleep modes.
