Built around the Texas Instruments TCA9548A switch IC, this module acts as an 8-channel bidirectional I2C switch, enabling a single microcontroller to communicate with up to 8 I2C devices sharing the exact same I2C address.
By sending simple control commands over the main I2C bus (SDA/SCL), the master microcontroller can select and talk to any single downstream channel (or combination of channels) from SD0/SC0 to SD7/SC7. Additionally, the board features selectable I2C address pins (A0, A1, A2), allowing up to 8 TCA9548A multiplexers to be cascaded together on a single I2C bus to control up to 64 identical I2C devices.
Supports level translation across 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V logic levels, making it ideal for interfacing multi-sensor arrays (such as multiple OLED displays, distance sensors, or IMUs) with modern development boards.
