The Pulse Sensor Amped is a simple plug-and-play heart-rate sensor. It clips onto a fingertip or earlobe and gives an analog signal of the heartbeat, which any Arduino analog pin can read. An onboard amplifier and noise filter give a clean waveform, so it is the easiest way to start heart-rate projects.
| Type | Optical heart-rate (PPG) sensor |
|---|---|
| Output | Analog |
| Supply voltage | 3V – 5V |
| Current | approx. 4 mA |
| Connections | 3 wires: VCC, GND, Signal |
| Diameter | approx. 16 mm |
What is the operating voltage?
3V – 5V.
Does it measure SpO2?
No, it measures heart rate only. For SpO2 use the MAX30100 or MAX30102 module.
Is it a medical device?
No, it is for learning and prototyping only.
