The IR LED is a set of 5mm clear infrared light-emitting diodes designed to emit invisible light at a peak wavelength of 940nm. Housed in a standard 5mm water-clear epoxy package, these IR emitters produce a focused, directional infrared beam ideal for wireless signal transmission, optical line sensing, and proximity detection.
When paired with an IR photodiode or IR receiver LED (such as a 5mm black IR receiver or TSOP module), these transmitter LEDs form an effective optical link for TV/AC remote controllers, object detection systems, optical encoders, and obstacle avoidance sensors.
Featuring standard 2-pin through-hole radial leads, they operate at a forward voltage of 1.2V to 1.6V DC at 20mA (up to 100mA pulsed) and plug directly into breadboards, stripboards, and PCBs.
