Instead of requiring 6 to 11 GPIO pins for parallel data transfer, this module converts the standard parallel LCD interface into a 2-wire I2C communication bus.
It features a built-in potentiometer for adjusting screen contrast, a backlight jumper header, and selectable I2C address pads (default 0x27 or 0x3F). It solder-connects directly onto the back of 16x2 (1602) or 20x4 (2004) character LCD modules.
