The Infrared (IR) Proximity Sensor Module has an IR LED and IR receiver that detect objects in front of the sensor. The LM393 comparator gives a clean digital LOW when an obstacle is detected, and the range is set by a potentiometer. It is the standard sensor for obstacle-avoiding and line-follower robots.
